Simulation Based Traning

Virtual Standardized Patient

Simulated environments, humans, and their physiology that allows to train a broad range of scenarios that require medical interventions.

Virtual Standardized Patient (VSP) was a multi-year evolution of research and project based work that examined a number of objectives with respect to responsive virtual humans. Over a number of years the work incorporated Natural Language Processing (NLP), physiological simulation, virtual patients and environments, and a training architecture that provided a platform for the training and continuing education of medical professional, and military personnel. The project eventually evolved to the freeware USC Standard Patient software. https://www.standardpatient.org/
